Understanding the GoRide Rebate Program

GoRide rewards high-volume merchants at the end of each year with a rebate on commissions. Here's exactly how it works.

Posted by admin · May 18, 2026

How the rebate works

20% of the gross transaction amount (including all applicable taxes). The rebate program reduces your effective commission rate based on your total completed rental volume for the calendar year (January 1 to December 31).

The rebate is not an additional payment — it's a reduction of the effective commission you paid. The higher your volume, the lower your effective rate.

A concrete example

350 rentals at an average price of $120 CAD (before taxes).

$42,000.

$8,400 over the year.

5% rebate tier, which brings your effective commission rate down to 15%. The difference between 20% and 15% on $42,000 is $2,100 — that's the rebate amount GoRide pays back to you.

In other words: instead of paying $8,400 in commissions for the year, your net commission cost was $6,300.

What counts toward your volume

Eligible transactions (per section 4.1 of the Merchant Agreement):

       Completed bike rentals

       Completed accessory rentals

Additional services (maintenance, adjustments, coaching, etc.)

Reservation deposits for end-of-season bike purchases

Not eligible:

       Applicable sales taxes

       The fixed $0.99 transaction fee

Cancelled, refunded, disputed, or charged-back transactions

Transactions with funds held by Stripe

Bike sales (whether during the season or end-of-season), which are subject to a separate flat 10% commission with no rebate

When is the rebate paid?

at the beginning of the following year, generally in January or February, by bank transfer to the account on file. GoRide will notify you by email when your rebate has been processed.

Payment is conditional on: funds having been effectively collected by Stripe, no outstanding disputes or chargebacks, and full compliance with the Merchant Agreement.

Important note

The rebate program can be modified or discontinued by GoRide with 30 days written notice. Any accumulated rebates are paid out within 60 days of program end. See section 4.5 of the Merchant Agreement for full details.
