1. Use high-quality photos
Photos are the first thing riders look at. Listings with strong visuals consistently outperform those without.
What works:
• Shoot against a clean, neutral background (white wall, pavement, or grass)
• Include at least 3 angles: front, side, and a detail shot (drivetrain or suspension)
• Photograph in natural daylight — avoid indoor fluorescent lighting
• Manufacturer photos are perfectly fine to use. If the bike brand provides high-quality product images, use them — they're professionally shot and already optimized for exactly this purpose.
Avoid: blurry images, cluttered backgrounds, photos taken in a dark garage.
2. Write a description that answers the rider's questions
Riders are trying to figure out if your bike is right for them before they book. Your description should answer:
• What type of riding is this bike suited for? (XC, enduro, gravel, casual)
• What level of fitness or experience is required?
• What's included? (helmet, lock, pump, map)
• Where is the pickup location?
Keep it to 3–5 short paragraphs. Clear and specific beats long and vague every time.
Use AI to write it faster. Our support article on creating a new listing includes a ready-to-use AI prompt that generates a strong description in seconds. → See: How To Create A New Bike Rental Listing
3. Add your GoRide shop link everywhere
goride.ca/[your-shop-name]. Place it in as many spots as possible:
• Your website — add a "Rent a bike" button or link in your navigation or homepage
• Google Business Profile — add it as a booking link or in your description
• Your email signature — every email you send is a potential touch point
• Your invoices and receipts — customers who just bought from you are warm leads for rentals
Each additional placement increases your reach without any ongoing effort.
4. Display a QR code in your shop
Customers who walk into your store — for a tune-up, a purchase, or just to browse — are already interested in bikes. A QR code pointing to your GoRide shop converts that existing foot traffic.
Where to place it:
• At the checkout counter
• On your front door or window
• Near your rental bikes if they're on display
To get your QR code, contact us at support@goride.ca. We create them on request and send them print-ready.
5. Post once a week on social media
One post per week is enough to stay visible.
What to post:
• A photo of a bike from your GoRide inventory with the booking link in the caption
• A trail or route near your shop that your rental bikes are perfect for
• A customer photo (with permission) after a ride
• A seasonal update ("Our e-MTBs are now available for the summer")
